Conditions were unexpectedly good for late May in southeastern Texas - low 70's; moderate humidity; clear; calm.

Two previous RTW first-place finishers, Thomas McDonough and Lloyd Swanson, battled for the lead throughout the race. In the end, McDonough prevailed by nine seconds. No suprise among the women as Ann Leoni once again was the first to cross the finish line.

Upcoming: The next two races are scheduled for Saturday, June 14th and Saturday, June 28th. Because there are five Saturdays in May, there is three week break before the next scheduled race. The entry fee remains $1.00 (yes, one dollar).
