Fenby: Film Score for "Jamaica Inn"
Eric Fenby, Delius' amanuensis, composed the musical score for
Alfred
Hitchcock's 1939 film Jamaica Inn. Music is provided for the
opening
and closing credits, along with some background music at the beginning
of the film. Fenby's music is spirited and original. In fact, the
film's
impact would have been enhanced by using more of Fenby's music
throughout
(much of the film is starkly devoid of music).
